Three Arcata Plaza merchants are partnering with Friends of the Dunes in a Holiday Season Silent Auction to support the campaign to develop the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center. Visit Plaza Design, Arcata Exchange, and The Garden Gate for a chance to bid on outstanding works by local artisans from now until December 23. Items up for bid include:
- A hand-turned pepperwood and acacia salad bowl set by Ken Rothschiller (Arcata Exchange)
- A stunning photo of the beach morning glory on Stone Lagoon by photographer and ecologist Andrea Pickart (The Plaza Design)
- An original oil painting by Joan Dunning entitled Snowy Plover and Chick (The Garden Gate)
This holiday season, visit these local stores and be a part of the transformation of the former Stamps House into the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center – "Gateway to the Dunes."
