Due to scheduling conflicts with Plaza Grill, where we have been generously allowed to hold our regular meetings for several years, we’re moving the meetings to Humboldt Brews’ music room.
Tuesday, June 7 at 7 p.m. in Humboldt Brews, 10th and I streets. As usual, first two pitchers of beers on us.
We thank the Plaza Grill for the longtime support and Humboldt Brews for welcoming us with open arms. Please spread the word — see you there!
Join us on Tuesday, April 5 at our regular Surfrider meeting as well as a Rise Above Plastics meeting. We’ll be meeting in the Annex, aka The Pit, at the Plaza Grill in Arcata.
We’ll start at 6 p.m. discussing RAP, and the regular meeting will start up at 7 p.m. As always, the first 2 pitchers of beer are on us! Hey, bribery works.
Join us at the Plaza Grill Viewroom in Arcata, Tuesday at 6 pm as we discuss the latest and greatest. First 2 pitchers on us!
And don’t forget! Thursday night is Ocean Night at the fabulous Arcata Theater Lounge. Movies this month are 180 Degrees South: Conquerors of the Useless and The Hudson Riverkeepers. Doors at 6:30 pm. $3 donation but no one turned away for lack of funds!
Trailer for 180 Degrees South here.
Info on The Hudson Riverkeepers here.
Sorry for the late notice, folks, but due to Election Night, tonight’s regular Surfrider meeting is rescheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. Usual Plaza Grill View Room location.
The good news is today’s Rise Above Plastics presentation to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors was a success! The Bag Monster (aka Laurie), along with Bean, MJ and Jeffrey all described the horror of single-use plastic bags to the supes. Third District Supervisor Mark Lovelace made a motion to direct staff to work with Humboldt Waste Management Authority (represented at the meeting by Jim Test) on a county-wide ordinance regarding plastic bag use. We expect to be part of that process. Stay tuned!
Again, sorry for the inconvenience! But thanks for getting your vote on.
Tuesday, Sept. 7 (tonight)
Join us for our regular monthly meeting at Plaza Grill, in the View Room, Jacoby’s Storehouse, Arcata Plaza.

Join us for the 3rd annual Surfrider Shindig, celebrating another year working for the ocean, beaches and waves in Humboldt County. Featuring a Greenhouse Boardshop movie premiere of the new Julian Wilson flick, “Scratching the Surface.”
Finally, join us! If you’re not a Surfrider member already, consider how far that $25 will go over the next year: help us improve access, monitor water quality, keep an eye on Humboldt Bay dredging and sediment management, clean up the beaches and fight for legislation to protect the ocean.
First 2 pitchers on us!
