The surf community will hold a memorial paddle out for beloved surfer, teacher and family man John “Moose” Mason. Everyone is welcome to gather in the water and on the shore to acknowledge our loss, share memories and pay tribute to a good friend.
We’ll gather at 11:30 a.m. and be in the water at noon.
The Memorial gathering for family and friends will begin in the Trinidad Town Hall at about 1:30 p.m. Beverages will be provided and we’ll remember John with a slide show, music, photos and stories of John.
Please bring finger foods (nothing needing a fork, spoon or knife) or something to drink.
If you have any questions or ideas, call Jim Steinberg at 825-6862.

Thanks for posting the images of Keith Newcomer on your website. I am the photographer. My name is Gary Lynch. I lived in Humboldt from 1969 – 91. I was a friend of Tom Pratte’s and know Mark Massara well. I have many fond memories of the ‘early’ days of surfing Humboldt. Keith was one of my surfing buddies. Like many, we all respected Keith for his work in the community and his ability to become a successful businessman.
