Free Ocean Night at ATL

Tonight!!! We will be screening three short, sweet ocean films starting at 7 p.m. at the Arcate Theatre Lounge:

Keeping Coast, winner of Cottonwood Creek Environmental Film Festival's Best Short Film category, chronicles local efforts against a proposed coal plant and other development issues presently threatening a pristine stretch of coastal waters in rural South America.

The Man in the Grey Suit, directed by Roger Teich, features beautiful underwater footage of sharks, seals, and sunfish at the Farallon Islands shot by Ron Elliot, the only urchin diver with enough nerve to pick urchins from the shark-infested waters of the Farallons.

Longer, directed by JBrother, shows Joel Tudor surfing a wide range of interesting boards including longboards, single fins, eggs, and discs across the globe.

We're asking a $2 donation from nonmembers: Surfrider members are free! Co-sponsored by Humboldt Baykeeper and Ocean Conservancy.

We hope to see you there!
