Keith Newcomer (update)

As folks have likely heard, longtime Arcata resident and avid surfer/pilot Keith Newcomber died in a plane crash last Saturday, Oct. 16, along with his 7-year-old son.

News reports are in the Journal and in the Times-Standard.

A memorial service for Newcomer will be held on Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. at the D Street Neighborhood Center.

Thanks for posting the images of Keith Newcomer on your website. I am the photographer. My name is Gary Lynch. I lived in Humboldt from 1969 - 91. I was a friend of Tom Pratte's and know Mark Massara well. I have many fond memories of the 'early' days of surfing Humboldt. Keith was one of my surfing buddies. Like many, we all respected Keith for his work in the community and his ability to become a successful businessman.
