Research released by Environment Washington supports plastic bags as a contributor to the detriment of marine eco systems.  The report  says, “ In April 2010 a dead grey whale washed up on the beach in West Seattle.  It had 20 plastic bags in its stomach.”

Sad but not shocking after reading that less than 6% of the nations plastic bags are recycled, leaving the rest of these super inconvenient bags chillin in landfills and intoxicating the marine food web.  Find link to the full report here.
