Written by Surfrider Humboldt | Aug 5, 2016 9:06:04 PM

Surfrider is calling a special meeting to address the conflict revolving around TRICK Jet Ski usage (NOT tow) at South Beach in Crescent City, CA. Please attend the meeting as we will discuss the issue and start to formulate a plan to help ensure South Beach is safe and enjoyable for all!

The purpose of this meeting is to have an informative discussion. The ultimate goal is to maximize all public recreational uses of South Beach.

When: Thursday August 11th, 7pm -9pm
Where: The Neighborhood, 1925 Alliance Rd, Arcata, California 95521
Who: Everyone! Members and non-members welcome

Many of us have learned to surf, taught our kids to surf, or just spent a day enjoying the sand and scenery at beautiful South Beach. Recently, the Crescent City Surfrider chapter and beach users in the area have reached out to us for help. Some recreational Jet Ski riders have been reported to be exceeding their legal allowed activity at South Beach. There have been many complaints that surfers, swimmers, and beachgoers now feel unsafe and unwelcome. Our goal is to help find a solution that keeps this portion of coastline safe and accessible for all types of public use.
If you care about South Beach and want to help, or have ideas and input about this issue, please come and participate in our Surfrider Gathering. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Refreshments will be provided. Bring a treat to share if you like! Members and non-members welcome.

Special thanks to the Neighborhood for hosting!
