The National Marine Protected Areas Center and Marine Conservation Biology Institute announce the launch of an online interactive data viewer for the California Ocean Use Atlas project. Funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the Resources Legacy Fund Foundation and NOAA, the Atlas project successfully mapped the full range of major ocean uses off California's coast. Unprecedented spatial information about ocean uses were collected through a series of participatory workshops involving regional ocean experts and users held between October 2008 and July 2009.
