Samoa car burglar busted/stolen surfboard

From the T-S:

Humboldt County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a Eureka man and recovered a stash of stolen items during a parole search Monday.

A vehicle break-in Monday at about 5 p.m. on State Route 255 was reported and a witness recorded the suspect's license plate number. Deputies ran the license number and it was registered to 30-year-old Zachariah Friedland, according to a Sheriff's Office press release.

Friedland's residence on the 200 block of Huntoon Street was searched according to the terms of his parole, according to the press release. A woman in the residence said Friedland was not at home but deputies found him in the attic.

Friedland was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property and a parole violation, according to authorities. The case is still under investigation and more arrests are expected.

DVD players, digital cameras and other small electronic devices were found and not all of it can be traced back to an owner. Victims of car burglaries, especially in the Samoa area, should contact the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office at 445-7251.
