What is an Ocean Ecosystem?
Dr. Karina Nielsen, Sonoma State University biologist, answers that question TONIGHT from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Humboldt Area Foundation Conference Center, 373 Indianola Road, Bayside.
Maps of the ocean only hint at the myriad habitats, currents, and sea life that exist beneaththe waves. The diversity of plants and animals in the ocean rivals what we see on land andprovide livelihoods and recreation that support our coastal communities.
Nielsen will use local examples to illuminate what scientists know about ocean ecosystems, and how they know it.
