Tsunami hit by knife-wielding thief!

Arrest made in alleged surf shop robbery

After an alleged armed robbery at a Garberville surf shop, authorities arrested a 40-year-old Laytonville man on charges of attempted robbery.

According to information from the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, on Monday, deputies responded to the Tsunami Surf Shop, where it was reported a man had entered and brandished a knife, demanding money.

The store clerk left the store and called the authorities before the suspect fled the scene, HCSO reported.

Upon arrival, a deputy located Sean Malcom, and arrested him on charges of attempted robbery.

He was booked into the Humboldt County jail, HCSO reported.
